Tolu Arokodare’s Breakthrough At Wolves Causes Exit Of Teammate

The sudden breakthrough of Tolu Arokodare into regular playing time at Wolverhampton Wanderers of England is set to cause the exit of a top player in the squad, Sports247 reports.

Arokodare has started the club’s last two games in the English Premier League and, following their first win of the season this past weekend, top shots at Molineux are now relying more on him.

However, improved relevance for the former Racing Genk of Belgium top scorer is bound to lead to the exit of Jorgen Strand Larsen in the coming days, as he has failed to replicate his form of last term when he got 14 goals in his first season.

Larsen, though, could be on his way to joining Ola Aina and Taiwo Awoniyi at Nottingham Forest, as they are showing interest in the off-form striker, while Wolves are open to some sales that would allow Rob Edwards reshape his squad.

A report by Daily Mail added: “In recent matches, Strand Larsen has been left out, as Rob Edwards gives Tolu Arokodare a run in the starting XI, with youngster Mateus Mane also handed an opportunity to shine.

“Strand Larsen was targeted by home supporters as Wolves went 19 matches without a league win and there is a feeling that a change of scene might be the best solution for all parties.”

On the other hand, Arokodare expressed optimism in a resurgence for Wolves, after the club got their first win of the campaign in a 3–0 victory over visiting West Ham United on Saturday.

Arokodare featured for 88 minutes in what was his 16th EPL appearance for the club since joining them last summer, using his strength effectively and won key battles that allowed Wolves sustain pressure.

Molineux News revealed that Arokodare contested 12 aerial battles, emerged victorious in eight, with 75 per cent success rate, and he was also efficient in his tackles, as he lost only one of six duels.

Arokodare took to X to celebrate his outing and the club’s victory, as he posted: “The type of performance we needed to start the new year, with every single fan at Molineux behind us. Let’s go.”
