Tolu Arokodare Wants to Learn Goal Scoring Skills From Victor Osimhen

RKC Genk of Belgium striker Tolu Emmanuel Arokodare has disclosed that he wants to learn my goal-scoring skills by playing alongside Victor Osimhen in the Nigerian national team, Super Eagles.

Sports247 reports that the tall hitman, who emerged top scorer in the Belgian top-flight league this season with 21 goals, netted for the Super Eagles in Friday’s 1-1 draw away to Russia during an international friendly at Luzhniki Stadium, Moscow.

Although it was Arokodare’s first goal in just four matches for the Eagles, all of which he has played as a substitute, some Nigerian fans have already started comparing his scoring instincts with those of Osimhen.

However, rather than feel on top of the world and stand tall to be praised, Arokodare, who also won the Ebony Boot for the best African player in Belgium, is staying humble, as he parried the comparison, then stressed that he has a lot to learn from Osimhen.

The 24-year-old dark-skinned hitman, who grew up in FESTAC Town, Lagos, conceded: “I have a lot to learn before I get to his high level. I still have a long way to go before I get to his level.

“He’s such an exceptional player and an exceptional person. We’ve seen that in what he has done for all his clubs and our country. So, I have a lot to do before I can reach up to that level of Victor Osimhen.”

The red-lipped lanky striker went on to admit he was delighted to net Nigeria’s crucial equalizer against Russia but insisted further that it does not put him level with what Osimhen has done, hence his desire to play alongside the SSC Napoli of Italy star in order to learn more goal scoring tricks.

“I’m happy that I’ve also scored for my country, but I’m still learning. We are similar in the way we play, but he’s more clinical than I am.

“That’s why I’m saying I have a lot to learn from him. In fact, playing alongside him will help me learn more and get better,” Arokodare admitted
