For Onwuzurike, who has gained valuable experience from Diamond League appearances and a semi-final finish at the Paris Olympics.

This opportunity marks another step forward in his steady rise as a final berth is not far in sight .

His progress also comes as a timely boost for Team Nigeria, already celebrating Tobi Amusan’s silver in the women’s 100m hurdles and Ezekiel Nathaniel’s place in the 400m hurdles final.

As the championships reach the decisive stages, all eyes will be on Onwuzurike to see if he can rise to the occasion and extend Nigeria’s presence on the global stage.
