Tochi Chukwuani Targets Bigger Impact With Glasgow Rangers

New arrival of Glasgow Rangers of Scotland, Tochi Chukwuani has declared that his biggest ambition at the Scottish Premiership outfit is to help the historic club dominate any team they play against.

Sports247 gathered that the Nigerian-born Denmark youth international is particularly excited with the prospects of playing at his team’s home ground, Ibrox Stadium in Glasgow, Scotland.

He is of a view that Ibrox holds an iconic ambience that brings out the best in any player wearing The Gers’ colours and believes he will be able to do better for the team once he hears their fans chanting from the stands.

Chukwuani will also set his mind of three upcoming home games, as Rangers host Annan Athletic in the Scottish Cup this Friday, Ludogorets in the UEFA Europa League on January 22nd and Dundee in the Premiership come January 25th.

All these come after the 22-year-old Chukwuani became Rangers’ first signing in the January transfer window, as he arrived from Sturm Graz of Austria on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Chukwuani’s arrival was heralded with three major talking points – how he was sent off last year against Celtic, he had a heart problem that botched a Serie A move and he helped Graz defeat Rangers in the Europa League this season.

Dramatically, he faced both Rangers and Celtic in the Europa League, as he helped Graz beat the Ibrox club 2-1 in Austria, but got a red card three weeks later for a rash challenge on Celtic captain, Callum McGregor during a 2-1 loss in Glasgow.

The youngster, though, says he has put all that behind him and the only thing now on his mind is how to make Gers’ fans happy once he starts playing in the Scottish Premiership, especially in their home matches.

Chukwuani retorted, “I’m super excited. Rangers are a huge club and I can’t wait to hear the roar at Ibrox.

“It’s a historic club with a huge fanbase. There are huge expectations, and this is something as a footballer you want to play in front of.

“It gives motivation every weekend to go and give 100% and do what you can to put smiles on people’s faces.”
