Toby Nweke Boosts Princeton Tigers’ Victory In USA’s Women’s Collegiate Basketball

Princeton Tigers’ Nigerian-born ace, Toby Nweke was her team’s third top scorer on a night they snatched victory over Brown Bears in USA’s National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) women’s basketball league.

Sportas247 reports that Nweke slotted home 10 points on the night, while Fadima Tall top scored 12 points and Skye Belker got 11, as Princeton won their 15th consecutive game with a 58-49 win over The Bears.

With Nweke and her colleagues in top form, Princeton led 47-43 halfway of the fourth quarter, after which Tall and Olivia Hutcherson led a quick six-point run that gave The Tigers a 54-43 lead with 3 1/2 minutes left.

Belker hit four free throws in the final minute to close out the victory, while Tall grabbed eight rebounds and Ashley Chea had seven assists, as The Tigers went on a 12-0 tear in the second quarter.

On the opposing side, Grace Arnolie, the Ivy League’s scoring leader at 18.6 per game, got 14 points for The Bears, while Alyssa Moreland had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Nweke’s team, who led 24-20 at halftime, fell behind 27-26 early in the third quarter, but a 14-0 run put them ahead 40-27 with five minutes left and held on to win, though Brown rallied within six points in the fourth quarter.
