Confident, bold, and fiercely determined, Titilayo Abanikonda, a Wide Receiver/Quarterback (WR/QB) for the Lagos Raptors, stood tall despite her team’s 7–19 loss to the Lagos Athletic Knights in Week 3 of the ongoing Showtime Bowl Series XIII at the Showtime Arena, Lekki.
Speaking with Sports247 after the game, Abanikonda acknowledged the tough contest but praised her team’s effort and mindset, insisting that the Raptors remain focused on improvement and the long season ahead.

“Coming into this game, we knew we were playing one of the best teams — but we also know we have what it takes,” she said. “In this game, a little distraction can cost you your ticket. We know we’re here for the fight, and we’ll keep fighting.”
Though the Raptors could not secure a win, their energy and teamwork were evident throughout the game. Abanikonda, known for her composure and leadership on the field, continues to inspire both her teammates and young fans following the fast-rising sport.
“The game is growing, and it’s making everyone happy,” she added. “Every week, you see more excitement, more people getting involved — it’s beautiful to watch.”
