They’ve Done Well’: Ajilore Backs NFF Board — Points To Falcons Triumph And Projects As Proof Of Progress

Former Super Eagles midfielder Femi Ajilore has come out in support of the current leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation, insisting that the board has made meaningful progress despite recent criticisms.

In contrast to voices calling for sweeping changes, Ajilore believes the federation deserves credit for ongoing developments, particularly in infrastructure and team performances.

“They have done well,” he stated, offering a positive assessment of the administration under NFF president Ibrahim Musa Gusau.

One of the key areas Ajilore highlighted is the FIFA Forward 2.0 project, which has seen the construction and improvement of football facilities across the country.

For him, such initiatives demonstrate a commitment to long-term development and provide a foundation for future success.

“These projects matter,” he implied, emphasizing the importance of investing in infrastructure.

Ajilore also pointed to on-field achievements as evidence of progress, particularly the success of the Super Falcons at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

He noted that such victories reflect effective planning and support from the federation.

In addition, he praised the recent improvement in the Super Eagles under head coach Eric Chelle, suggesting that the team is beginning to show signs of stability and growth.

“There are positives,” he said, urging critics to acknowledge them.

For Ajilore, it is important to take a balanced view of Nigerian football, recognizing both the challenges and the progress being made.

His decision to pass a vote of confidence in the board underscores his belief that continuity may be more beneficial than constant change.

As debates continue over the direction of Nigerian football, Ajilore’s stance provides a contrasting perspective.

While others call for reform, he sees signs of progress.

And for him, those signs are worth building on rather than discarding.
