Ikorodu City moved to the summit of the NPFL table after a convincing 2–0 win over Niger Tornadoes on Sunday, February 8, 2026. The Matchday 25 encounter was played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.

Forward Joseph Arumala was the hero of the day, scoring both goals for the hosts. He opened the scoring in the 33rd minute from the penalty spot before sealing the victory with a second strike in the 88th minute.

The result took Ikorodu City to 41 points from 25 matches, placing them first on the log ahead of Rivers United on goal difference, although Rivers United have four games in hand.

Ikorodu City will aim to consolidate their position at the top when they travel to Aba to face Enyimba FC on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in what promises to be a crucial test in their title quest.
