The Big Decision as Three-Match is Ultimatum Gone: What Next For Abia Warriors?

The mood is down, the management is pondering, the ship is sinking with the whole of the team in it, but one man seems to have failed to bring the Calvary to rescue Abia Warriors.

In the wake of the poor start to the season and the series of terrible results that saw Abia Warriors sit rock bottom of the NPFL table after four matchdays, the Abia Warriors management despite all their spending and recruitments over the transfer window had to throw in the ‘saving grace’ order of a three-game ultimatum to coach Imama Amapakabo to turn the tides around for the team.

Has he done that, or has he not? Seems a point that has can be argued for or against the 2016/17 NPFL winning coach.

Abia Warriors lost their first four games at the start of the season and then the ultimatum was given. The next three games saw Abia Warriors take on Ifeanyi Ubah away from home, MFM FC at home and Lobi star away also with Imama and the boys not losing any of the three as they played out a draw in all three games and scored only one goal in the process.

Since the ultimatum, Abia Warriors has picked 3points from the available nine after failing to pick any point from the first available twelve. Sounds like progress right? In the same period, Abia Warriors have risen one place in the table as Adamawa United now occupies the bottom spot. Progress right?

Either way, the ultimatum period has ended. Abia Warriors won none of the games and still wait for their first win in the league this 2020/2021 NPFL season and the draw against Lobi stars looked like the end of a period for Abia. Imama was seen hugging the boys as some emotions seemed to flow but what’s the decision going to be?

Stick with Imama a little longer or sack Imama and find a new manager?

What’s it going to be?
