The 5TH Edo State BET9JA Football Championship Gets A New Date For Kickoff

The Annual and most entertaining and highest winning star prize football competition in Benin City, known as the (EDO STATE BET9JA Football Tournament 2022) gets a new date for kick-off.

The 3-week long football championship also got a big boost as the organizing body promises to extend the tournament to Edo North and Edo Central to complement the three ( 3) Senatorial Districts in the state.

Speaking to news men, the chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and the Master Super Agent of BET9JA in Edo State, Mr Roland inonojie stated the reason for inclusiveness in the addition of the 2 senatorial districts.

He quotes, this year’s edition will surpass and improve on the previous edition’s because of the talents that will be discovered in the teams from Edo North and Edo Central respectively.

The Edo State Betja Football Championship is geared towards strengthening and fostering unity amongst football outfits and, as well, amateur players; compared to their counterparts in other States.

The Tournament will be hosted at the various proposed venues at the University of Benin Mainbowl Stadium, The Western Boys High School Edo State Community Football field, The Auchi Public Field, and Eguare Primary School Field ( Ekpoma).

This year’s edition is scheduled to kick off from the 20th of March,2022 to the 15th of April 2022.

The organisers will be sending out invitations to those qualified to participate in this year’s event as this year’s edition is set to welcome new debutants into the competition.

Meanwhile, The defending Champion, Mission Side Football Club promised to defend and retain the trophy they had earlier won at the expense of BJ Football Club who were tipped favourites in the last edition.

This year’s edition will be the 5th as well as the maiden edition which was won by BJ Football Club at the expense of Rolly Football Academy.

The 2nd Edition trophy was lifted by Uniben FC with Rolly FC as runner’s up.

Rockers FC defeated BJ Football Club to lift the 3rd edition trophy, While the Defending Champion, Mission Side Football Club ran away with the trophy after defeating the tournament favourite, BJ Football Club to lift the Elusive trophy.

This year’s tournament shall be grazed by the presence of some local and international football Scouts, guests and Ex-Super Eagles players.
