‘Thank God for This Victory!’ Ajisola Khadijat Triumphs in 57kg at Commonwealth Games Boxing Trials

Nigerian boxer Ajisola Khadijat has expressed gratitude after emerging winner of the 57kg category at the Commonwealth Games National Open Boxing Trials, describing the triumph as an important step in her growing boxing career.

Khadijat secured victory in the highly competitive category during the trials held in Lagos, where dozens of fighters from across the country competed for places in the national team ahead of the next Commonwealth Games.

Reacting after the bout, the boxer said she was grateful for the outcome and credited her success to hard work and faith.

“I thank God for this victory,” Khadijat said shortly after her win.

The boxer explained that the triumph represents motivation to continue improving and working towards greater achievements in the sport.

“My goal now is to keep improving and getting better,” she added.

Khadijat also acknowledged the support system behind her career, noting that she is determined to make both her coach and family proud through her performances in the ring.

“I want to make my coach and my family proud with what I achieve in boxing,” she stated.

“You have to keep working hard and stay focused if you want to reach the highest level,” she said.
