Tennis in Nigeria has improved – NTF President

President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation, Ifedayo Akindoju has insisted that the sport has seen a steady improvement in 2018 compared to where it was last year.

 

In a chat with Sports247.ng the NTF boss who was elected over a year ago replacing former president Sani Ndanusa maintains that the development of younger tennis players to take the sport to the next level through a structured academy system remains the ultimate goal of the federation.

 

Appraising the outgoing year, Akindolu has identified areas where significant progress have been made this year, including the introduction of more senior national championships and improved financial opportunities for the players.

Very few national tennis championships take place in the country annually. To on the list are the CBN Open, Dala Hard court and the Governor’s Cup in Lagos which is an international Tennis tournament
