Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface is embracing new challenge after completing a season loan move to Werder Bremen from Bayern Leverkusen choosing to focus on team achievements rather than setting individual targets.
The 24-year-old striker endured a difficult summer, losing his place at Leverkusen and missing out on a proposed AC Milan move after failing a medical.

He sealed his Bundesliga switch to Bremen in a rapid series of developments on the transfer window deadline day.
Boniface revealed that the transfer materialized quickly after positive talks with Bremen officials, while support from close friend and former Union Saint-Gilloise teammate Senne Lynen helped smooth his arrival at the Weserstadion.
The striker explained that Bremen’s clarity on their project convinced him immediately, and he expressed gratitude for the welcoming atmosphere created by both the club and its supporters.
“I remember it being loud when I scored against them last season. The atmosphere was actually really good, but I hope that my next goal will be in a Werder kit and that I can celebrate it alongside all of the fans” .
He emphasized that Lynen’s reassurance about life at the club, combined with Bremen’s honest communication, gave him confidence that he could thrive in their setup this season.
When asked about his ambitions, Boniface stated he never sets personal targets such as specific goal tallies, preferring to concentrate on helping the team win matches and achieve overall success.
“I never set myself any personal goals ahead of the season, such as scoring a certain amount of goals and so on, that’s the biggest thing for a footballer. ”
He added that the passionate reception from Bremen supporters has motivated him to repay their faith by delivering strong performances and celebrating goals in a green-and-white shirt.
“I’m delighted with the support I’m getting from the fans and the whole club, as well as the excitement that the news of my transfer brought about.”
The striker recalled the intensity of playing against Bremen last season, noting that he now looks forward to experiencing that atmosphere on his side of the pitch.
“I want to use this excitement to give them something back on the pitch,” the striker concluded
Boniface will use the international break to integrate fully with his new teammates, as he was not included in Nigeria’s squad for the September fixtures against Rwanda and South Africa.
