Sports247 reports that, while Ijigbamigbe is specific about her team proving doubters wrong by hooking hordes of medals for Nigeria before the Games end on August 2nd, Oluwafemiayo conceded that they will have no excuse for failure, considering the huge preparations provided for them.

Oluwafemiayo heaped accolades on the Naitonal Sports Commission (NSC) for arranging a three-week pre-competition training camp for the entire Team Nigeria contingent in Aberdeen, Scotland, which she believes has beefed up their chances of winning medals.

With the Nigerian contingent now aet to travel out of Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV) to Glasgow on Tuesday, Oluwafemiayo praised the quality of facilities at the training base and declared that all of them are ready to excel in each of the 10 sports that the country’s 74 athletes will compete in.

“There is no excuse for failure, because the equipment is very good for our training. This is one of the best training camps we have been to and I believe, with this, we are going to make Nigeria proud,” Oluwafemiayo assured.

Ijigbamigbe echoed that view, as the Nigerian wheelchair basketball team captain averred that the quality of preparations they gained in Aberdeen strengthened confidence among the players and she submitted: “We are ready to prove critics wrong. We are the underdogs, but now we are coming out on top.”
