“The government is committed to ensuring that this year’s Commonwealth Games will be different for Team Nigeria,” Adeyinka said.
According to him, the authorities have already begun putting structures in place to give Nigerian athletes the best possible preparation before the competition begins.
He noted that one of the major strategies being implemented is early camping for athletes, allowing them to train together and build the necessary form ahead of the Games.
“We have already organized early camping for the athletes so they can prepare properly,” he added.
Adeyinka explained that proper preparation is crucial for Nigeria to compete effectively against other countries at the international event.
The Commonwealth Games, which will take place in Glasgow, is expected to feature athletes from across the Commonwealth competing in multiple sports.
Adeyinka expressed confidence that with the support being provided, Nigerian athletes will be in a strong position to perform well.
“Nigeria will be more prepared than in previous editions,” he stated.
He also emphasized that the government recognizes the importance of sports development and the role athletes play in projecting Nigeria’s image on the global stage.
“Our athletes represent the country with pride, and they deserve the best support we can give,” Adeyinka concluded.
Team Nigeria will be hoping to build on previous performances as they aim to secure medals and strengthen the country’s reputation in international sports.
