The National Sports Commission has officially released the list of athletes and officials who will represent Nigeria at the 2025 Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, scheduled to take place from November 7 to 21.
A total of 59 athletes and coaches will fly Nigeria’s flag across seven sports, backed by a high-performance team that includes technical officials, medical experts, and administrators.

According to the Commission, Nigeria’s participation forms part of a long-term preparation strategy for major upcoming multi-sport events — including the 2026 Commonwealth Games, 2027 African Games, and 2028 Olympic Games — all under the RHINSE Framework, which focuses on sustainable athlete and system development.
Nigeria’s involvement continues a proud tradition, having participated in the last two editions of the Islamic Solidarity Games — in 2017 and 2021. The 2025 Riyadh Games will feature athletes from 57 countries competing for continental and global recognition.
Officials described the event as a vital platform for Nigerian athletes to test their readiness, build international experience, and foster unity through sport among member nations.
The National Sports Commission, in its official statement, congratulated all selected athletes and staff, urging them to represent the country with excellence and pride.
> “This is not just about medals; it’s about preparation, performance, and purpose,” the statement read.
“We are confident that Team Nigeria will once again embody the spirit of resilience, discipline, and unity that defines our nation.”
With the green and white ready to shine in Riyadh, Team Nigeria will aim to build momentum ahead of a packed international sporting calendar — and reaffirm the country’s growing strength on the global stage
