Team 9ja AAG Update: ‘Nor gree for anybody,’ – Mausi Zannu Says As She Clinches First Gold for Nigeria in Arm Wrestling at All African Games

Mausi Zannu, representing Nigeria, has emerged victorious in the 55kg women’s arm wrestling competition at the All African Games in Ghana.

This win marks the first gold medal for Nigeria at the games.

In an interview with Sports 247, an ecstatic Zannu shared her joy and determination. “I am so excited, I feel good right now. I am the happiest being on earth. Because making my country proud and making everybody who has supported me to this sport proud, I am very sure I’ll make Nigeria proud in many ways,” she said.

Zannu revealed that her mindset throughout the competition was focused on winning. “I never had a losing mentality. I always have a winning mentality because that is how I trained myself,” she stated.

Despite facing tough opponents, Zannu’s determination to make her country proud remained unwavering. “Every body had their techniques but my own determination was to make my country proud. I’ll never lose that because Naija no dey carry last. We nor dey gree for anybody. That is the way I came for the competition and that is what was on my mind ‘Nor gree for anybody,'” she concluded.

Zannu’s victory is a testament to her hard work, determination, and the winning mentality she embodies, bringing pride to her country and setting a high standard for her fellow athletes.
