After both teams qualifying for the semi-final of The Creative Championship Cup, they faced off in matchday nine of the league competition with the home side running away as clear winners.
Valiant and Dino SC went into the game as second and third on the log respectively and it was the away side that went ahead in the 13th-minute courtesy of an own goal. They extended their lead further in the first half courtesy of a goal by Friday in the 28th minute and both teams struggled for more impact as it ended that way after 90 mins.
Assistant coach of Dino Sporting Club, Suraj Olorunisola, spoke to Sports247 after his side performance that pulled them closer to the top of the table. “We’re not expecting anything less. We’ve been in a good firm since the start of the year…and coming here we knew it was going to be a victory. Fantastic game from the boys,” he said.
Dino SC remains 3rd on the table with 14pts but with only one point behind 2nd placed Valiant with a game in hand also and the assistant coach is optimistic if winning a silverware this season.
“We’re trying our possible best to win the league or the Cup. We’re looking to get the maximum point that we need in our outstanding game.”
He also commended the organizers of The Creative Championship League and Cup while acknowledging their huge efforts but also noting there is room for improvement always in a different aspect.
