TCC Cup: “I Was Mentally Prepared And Expected To Score A Goal In My Head Before Coming On,” Gbagada FC’s TCC Cup Hero Reveals

An exciting end to The Creative Championship Cup for Gbagada FC and it took a hero off the bench to give the team a win in the final at the Agege Stadium on Friday.

Tomisin Alasiri came off the bench in the 72nd minute to score a peach of a goal in the 77th minute that gave Gbagada FC the cup, arguably the biggest of his lad’s career, and he was expectedly excited being the toast of the dressing room after the game.

“I feel so happy about it, I never really saw it coming but it’s a thing of joy and very commendable,” the striker said.

Alasiri has played deputy to first striker Peter Edema, understandably as the striker has scored the highest for the side this season, however, he has been a substitute to have to contribute about 4 goals off the bench in major games and the striker explains his feeling scoring in such a big game.

“I’ve been working hard to put up an A performance any time I’m called so it’s a thing of joy. I keep telling myself that whenever I’m on the pitch, I have to push myself and score so I’m really grateful as it just happened the right time, in the right place, and for the right reason and I was praying that we see off the victory and the opponents don’t score and it’s definitely a sign of bigger things to happen in the future,” Alasiri said.

“Every time I go in the coach says go in there, try to stick to the tactical plan, stay central and don’t get drawn to the side and see if u can get a goal for yourself and I was prepared mentally for what was going to happen, I was expecting to get a goal in my head,” Alasiri explained as regards what his coach told him before coming off the bench.

The striker also revealed plans for his future while also believing the club has what it takes to win the double next season as the coach proposed.

“With or without me, I believe the team has what it takes to win the double next season and the competition is now more pronounced, more teams will be there and I wish the team the best of luck,” he said. “As for my future, I really can’t say for now, when the season is officially ended, my agent, manager, family, and the club will make a decision on what happens next,” Alasiri concluded.
