TCC Cup: Gbagada Through To The Semi Final Amidst Poor Officiating According To Coach Of Imperial FC

Gbagada FC ran out 1-0 winners in the first leg away from home and cemented their place in the semis after being held to a 1-1 draw at home by Imperial FC.

Coach of Imperial FC, Abdulfatai Abdulwahab, in a chat with Sports247 has tilted a little towards poor Officiating while also praising his lads. “We’re human beings and mistakes are bound to happen, but when the mistakes get too much, it’s not a mistake anymore to me, it’s like it’s been done intentionally,” he said about the officiating. “By now you can see my team, we’re growing little by little, improving with games and I know we will get there.”

“This is our 9th week in The Creative Championship and I’ve never complained about the referee. It’s just a game of football that everyone has come to enjoy, so let’s enjoy the game. You can’t be one-sided as an official, this is the problem of Nigerian football,” he added.

Coach Wahab was also swift to congratulate Gbagada FC for getting through to the next round of the cup whilst also getting prepared in his mind to face the side in the TCC League in the coming weeks.

“Kudos to Gbagada for qualifying for the semi-final but we shall meet again as we’re still coming back here to face them next week in the League,” he said.

Attention will shift back to the league next week and both sides will face off again with Gbagada FC currently 5th of the table with 10points from 8 games while Imperial sits bottom of the 8-team league table with 5 points from 8 games.
