Taiwo ‘Esepo’ Agbaje Throws Down Public Challenge to British Champion Leigh Wood

Nigerian boxer Taiwo Agbaje also known as ‘ ‘Esepo’ has issued a bold and uncompromising public challenge to British star Leigh Wood, declaring his intention to travel anywhere to seize the championship belt he covets.

In a message posted on social media, Taiwo made it clear that location would not be an obstacle, naming Nottingham — Wood’s home turf — as a possible battleground if required.

“You have the belt I want. The experience I crave,” Taiwo wrote.

“Nottingham, your backyard — it doesn’t matter. I will travel anywhere to take what you have.”

While acknowledging Wood’s quality, the undefeated ‘Esepo’ warned that the reigning champion has yet to face a force like him.

“You’re a great boxer, but I’ll bring a storm you’ve never seen,” he added.

Describing the message as more than a routine call-out, Taiwo framed it as a formal public challenge, urging Wood to step up and face what he called “the real threat.”

“The pride of Nigeria is coming, and we fear no one,” Taiwo declared, as he tagged major boxing promoters and broadcasters, including Matchroom Boxing, Queensberry Promotions, and DAZN.

With tensions rising and the challenge now firmly in the public domain, attention turns to Leigh Wood and his team — and whether they will respond to Nigeria’s defiant contender.
