Despite facing a challenging season on the pitch, including injuries and limited playing time, Awoniyi remained committed to making a positive impact off the field. In March, he organized a community meal in Nottingham that served as both an Iftar for Muslims during Ramadan and a meal break for Christians observing Lent, fostering unity among diverse groups.
Nottingham Forest announced the award on their official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating: “Taiwo Awoniyi has been named our PFA Community Champion for the 2024/25 season in recognition of his outstanding dedication to supporting local communities throughout the year.”
This accolade highlights Awoniyi’s unwavering commitment to community development and his role as a positive influence beyond the football pitch.
