TAEKWONDO: NIGERIAN FINALLY BAGS WORLD TAEKWONDO EDUCATOR CERTIFICATION

It was a dream come true for Nigeria as first Nigerian, the Technical Director, Nigeria Taekowondo Federation, NTF, Engr. Chika Yagazie Chukwumerije awarded the 1st World Taekowondo Educator Certification Programmes.

 

According to a release made available to newsmen by the Technical Director who is currently in South Korea training, affirmed that maiden edition of World Taekowondo Educator Certification Programme which is packaged by the World Taekowondo body to develop a selected number of World Taekwondo Educators who would be sent to various regions of the world to educate and train coaches that come for World Taekwondo International events.

 

2008 Olympic bronze medalist who could not hide his joy at the feat, described it as a laudable programme that has enriched him personally, stressed that the knowledge gained will surely come in handy for Nigeria Taekwondo Federation noting that it will certainly change the curriculum for the six-zone coaching workshops that the NTF have already planned for across Nigeria much later this year.

 

Appreciating the organisers for the programme, Chika Chukwumerika told sports247.ng that he would work together with the Chairman, Technical and Development Committee of the NTF, Alhaji Sani Lawal, to make the programme tremendously richer than it already is, from a technical point of view.

The release reads thus “I just graduated from the 1st World Taekwondo Educator Certification Programme. It was a huge privilege and honour for me when the World Taekwondo Education Committee specifically reached out to me two weeks ago, saying that they needed the best Technical Minds around the World to be part of this pioneering programme, whose objective is to develop a select number of World Taekwondo Educators who would be sent to various regions of the World to Educate and Train Coaches that come for World Taekwondo International Events.

 

“Truly, it was an honour to be with the best from around the world. I learnt so much from the loaded courses and interactions with other participants, who are global Taekwondo superstars in their various fields.

 

“Though I was invited in my personal capacity, the knowledge gained will surely come in handy for Nigeria Taekwondo. For instance, it will certainly change our curriculum for the six-zone coaching workshops that we have already planned for across Nigeria much later this year. I will work together with the Chairman, Technical and Development Committee, Alhaji Sani Lawal, to make the program tremendously richer than it already is, from a technical point of view.

“Let us keep working together to make Nigeria Taekwondo stronger both nationally and internationally,” the statement signed by the Technical Director, Chika Chukwumerije, Sports247.ng reports
