#SupereaglesAFCONupdate: Alex Iwobi Confident Super Eagles Will Give 100% in Quarterfinal Clash Against Angola

Fulham midfielder and Super Eagles player, Alex Iwobi, exudes confidence as he anticipates the quarterfinal match against Angola in the ongoing AFCON tournament.

Iwobi emphasized the invaluable experience brought by former AFCON winners, such as captain Ahmed Musa and Kenneth Omeruo, who guide the team to maintain focus and strive for success.

In expressing his optimism, Iwobi highlighted the discussions with Musa and Omeruo, who were part of the 2013 trophy-winning team, sharing the joys and experiences that winning the competition brought to Nigeria.

“He always wants us to push on and to achieve that same thing. Of course back then apparently they won the fame but they focused on themselves.

Musa told us that they don’t look at the outside noise, that it was one big family and that’s what pushed them to achieve greatness.”

Musa, as the captain, instills a sense of unity and focus within the team, emphasizing the importance of disregarding external distractions and focusing on the team’s objectives.

Iwobi, the second most capped player for Nigeria in the current squad, emphasized the hunger within the team to fight for each other and replicate the sense of family that contributed to the past successes of the Super Eagles.

He stated, “So of course you want to have that same feeling, if not a better feeling this time around. But it starts with the quarterfinal; we’re going to give about 100% so we give ourselves a chance to try and do that again.”

As the Super Eagles aim to secure victory in the quarterfinal match, Iwobi’s confidence and commitment reflect the team’s determination to create a successful and memorable AFCON campaign.
