Former Super Eagles international, Dimeji Lawal, has expressed optimism about a stronger performance from the Nigerian national team in their upcoming AFCON clash against Ivory Coast on Thursday.
Lawal attributed the cautious approach in the first game to the opening match dynamics but believes that the team will elevate its game as the tournament progresses.
“It’s the first game of the tournament, and everybody tries to be careful. Every tournament you grow as you play, and I am expecting a better performance from the Super Eagles against Cote d’Ivoire.
And don’t forget, the bigger the team, the bigger the performance. So, you’ll see something better from our boys,” Lawal asserted.
