Super Falcons Need More Friendly Matches Before WAFCON – Okunwa

Although she agreed that the upcoming four-nation mini-tournament in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire will be an ideal testing point for the squad, Okunwa-Igunbor insisted that it would not be enough to put the team in shape for WAFCON 2026.

She pointed it, “The three countries that are going to play that tournament, along with Nigeria, will provide us with a training tour process.

“It’s good for them to play friendly matches because there was no way for them to play in the last window.

“This one is okay, but I believe they still need more friendly matches to prepare them towards the tournament that is coming ahead of them.”

Sports247 reports further that the Falcons will play Ghana, Senegal and hosts Cote d’Ivoire at the competition in Abidjan from February 27th to March 7th.
