Super Falcons Complete Final Training Session Ahead of Comoros Clash

The Super Falcons of Nigeria have completed their final training session at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne ahead of their crucial first-leg Olympic qualifier against Comoros on Friday.

Sports247 reports that the Nigerian side went through their final preparations on Thursday evening, with all available players participating in the session as the team fine-tuned its tactical approach for the encounter.

Interim Super Falcons head coach Austin Eguavoen led the session alongside his coaching staff, with the technical crew working closely with the players as they put the finishing touches to their preparations.

The players appeared focused and determined throughout the training, carrying out their drills with intensity as the coaching staff emphasised tactical organisation, movement and match-specific preparations.

With the first leg scheduled for 6:00 pm at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne, the Falcons will be looking to make home advantage count when they face Comoros.

The encounter marks the beginning of Nigeria’s latest push for a place at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, with the Super Falcons aiming to build on their return to the Olympic stage at Paris 2024.

Eguavoen and his players will be aware of the importance of securing a positive result in the opening leg before the return fixture, as Nigeria continues its quest to advance to the next stage of the qualification series.

The final training session provided the technical crew with an opportunity to assess the players one last time and reinforce the tactical instructions ahead of matchday.

For the Super Falcons, attention now turns fully to Friday’s encounter as they prepare to begin their Olympic qualification campaign on home soil.

With a place in the next round at stake, the Nigerian team will be hoping to deliver a strong performance and secure an advantage before the return leg against Comoros.
