However, midfielder Alex Iwobi narrowly missed out on the final selection.

Osimhen, the former African Footballer of the Year, headlines the team after leading the line with authority and goals.

The Galatasaray forward is part of a formidable attacking trio alongside Senegal captain Sadio Mané and Morocco’s Brahim Díaz, the tournament highest goal score.

Lookman earned his place in midfield following a series of influential displays for the Super Eagles, combining creativity, energy and key contributions throughout Nigeria’s campaign.

He is joined in the middle of the park by Senegalese pair Idrissa Gana Gueye and Pape Gueye.

At the back, Calvin Bassey was rewarded with a spot at centre-back after producing commanding performances marked by strength, composure and tactical intelligence.

The Nigerian defender partners Senegal’s Moussa Niakhaté, while Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi and Noussair Mazraoui were selected as the full-backs.

Morocco’s Yassine Bounou (Bono) completes the Best XI in goal, having impressed with a series of crucial saves that anchored the Atlas Lions’ defensive solidity.

Iwobi, despite delivering consistent and influential midfield displays for Nigeria, was omitted from CAF’s final XI.

Overall, the Best XI reflects the strong influence of Senegal, Morocco and Nigeria at AFCON 2025, highlighting their quality as they finished with Gold, Silver and Bronze respectively.
