SUPER EAGLES SUPPORTER CLUB DISTRIBUTES COVID – 19 PALLIATIVE FOR INDIGENT MEMBERS

Following the 2 weeks extension of the lockdown ordered by the Federal and various State governments in Nigeria and the attendant hardship being faced by many Nigerians, the Executive of the Super Eagles Supporters Club (SESC) has distributed financial support to 100 of their indigent members.

A release by the President of the SESC, Prince Vincent Okumagba said that the supporters club through the various State Chairmen collated the list of some of their indigent members. The members received various sums of money ranging from N5,000 to N10,000 which were credited directly to their accounts. According to Prince Okumagba, “we are aware that people are going through a lot but the idea was to help them to mitigate the effects of the lockdown”.

He added that fund for the support was raised by himself with the support of a few other affluence members of the SESC.

According to Prince Okumagba, “being in the SESC has afforded the members to see each other as a family hence everyone looks for the other”. He added that members of the club have individually and collectively paid some price in supporting the nation’s interest hence it will be abnormal to abandon them at this hard time.

The release said that distribution of the palliative was handled by a committee selected from among the 28 State Chairmen of the Club from all the zones of the country. The committee was headed by the Oyo State SESC Chairman, Engr. Laaro (South West) as Chairman.

Others include Barr. (Dr.) Dagana (South-South), Mohammed Mohammed (North), and Ezike Mevision (South East). The committee’s assignments included identifying the beneficiaries from the zones with the assistance of the various state chairmen and the distribution of the palliatives based on the available resources.

The SESC President expressed his support for the various governments’ effort at containing the Coronavirus and therefore advised the members of the Super Eagles’ Supporters Club and Nigerians as a whole to totally adhere to all advice from medical personnel including the social distancing as well as keeping high-level personal hygiene.
