Sevilla of Spain winger, Chidera Ejuke has disclosed that he and other players in Nigeria’s national team are in very positive spirit ahead of Sunday’s clash with Democratic Republic of Congo in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs final.

Sports247 reports that the Super Eagles will face The Leopards in Rabat, Morocco (starting 8pm Nigeria time), following their 4-1 mauling of Gabon in Thursday’s semi-final, during which Ejuke got his team’s second goal of the game.

The product of Supreme Court FC of Abuja, who also played for Gombe United in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL), as well as for Valerenga of Norway, Heereveen of Netherlands, CSKA Moscow and Hertha Berlin of Germany, said he was excited with his ability to help the Eagles with a goal.

Ejuke added, “I’m just excited that I could contribute something for the team. I just wanted to go in and contribute what I could to help the team.

“Bringing my pace, my forward runs, also helping to defend and then getting a goal made me happy.”

He then turned his attention towards Sunday’s final and prayed that God would give Nigeria a much desired win that would take them just one step away from picking a ticket to next year’s Mundial in USA, Canada and Mexico.

“We are very positive, and we are excited going into the next game. We are hoping and praying that, by the grace of God, we will be able to come out with victory again,” the fair-skinned winger enthused.
