Super Eagles Must Give 120% Effort In Order To Defeat Gabon – Aghahowa

Former Super Eagles’ attacker, Julius Efosa Aghahowa is of a view that the team’s current set of players must put in 120% effort in order to defeat Gabon on Thursday, Sports247 reports.

Nigeria and Gabon will lock horns in Rabat, Morocco to decide which of them moves into the final at the African level of the 2016 FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs.

Victory for the Super Eagles this Thursday would see them edge closer to the World Cup ticket, with only the final and intercontinental laps still to go.

Aghahowa, however, admonished the players to avoid thinking of the final, which is scheduled to hold this Sunday, as they have to face one match at a time.

Agha-Wonder added, “We have to take each game as it comes. The next game we have ahead of us now is against Gabon, and that’s the most important task for us right now.

“After that, the next one will become the most important game. It means we need to win every game we play and concentrate on them as they come.”

He reasoned that a lot of tension would be flowing through the nerves of the players as D-Day approaches and charged them to face the challenge head-on like true professionals.

Aghahowa continued, “The most important thing now is for us to defeat Gabon. Pressure is surely on those who are in camp but, since they were invited by the coach, they must bring their A-game

“They must be fit, they must be ready, they must be eager to sacrifice and give 120% effort. There are no two ways about it, if we really want to go to the World Cup.

“That’s the best advice I can give them right now, and I’m still optimistic that they will eventually qualify. I’m also praying that we get it done with enough seriousness,” Aghahowa submitted.
