Super Eagles Lock In: Ekong, Ndidi, Bassey, and Moffi Promise All-Out Fight Against Lesotho

With just days to go before their crucial World Cup qualifier against Lesotho, the Super Eagles of Nigeria have vowed to give everything to secure maximum points and reignite their qualification hopes.

Speaking from the team’s camp in Polokwane, South Africa, captain William Troost-Ekong said the players are fully focused on Friday’s encounter and are determined to silence their critics.

“We’ve never stopped believing,” Ekong declared confidently. “Yes, the table looks tight, but we know what’s at stake. It’s simple — we have to win, and we’ll give everything to make that happen. We owe that to ourselves and to Nigerians who have supported us through the ups and downs.”

Midfield powerhouse Wilfred Ndidi echoed his captain’s determination, stressing the need for discipline and teamwork. “At this stage, it’s about concentration and unity,” Ndidi said. “Every minute counts. We must approach the game with focus and fight for every ball. The only thing on our mind is three points.”

Defender Calvin Bassey, who has been a key figure in the backline, emphasized the importance of staying organized at the back. “We can’t afford mistakes,” he noted. “One lapse could change everything, so we’re working hard in training to stay sharp and compact.”

Forward Terem Moffi, who is expected to lead the attack, spoke about the urgency to deliver in front of goal. “It’s all about converting chances,” he said. “We need to be ruthless. This is the time to step up — no excuses.”

The Super Eagles currently trail behind in Group C but remain hopeful after FIFA’s decision to deduct points from South Africa. The team believes that back-to-back victories against Lesotho and Benin Republic could completely change their fortunes and put Nigeria back on the road to the 2026 World Cup.

For the Super Eagles, it’s now or never.
