Speaking during the meeting, Omeruo emphasized that the project would provide a structured pathway for gifted young players to rise from grassroots football to professional ranks. He also commended the state’s efforts in sports development and the revitalization of Rangers International FC, one of Nigeria’s most historic clubs.

Governor Mbah lauded Omeruo’s vision and reaffirmed his administration’s full support for the initiative, describing it as timely and transformative. He assured that Enugu State remains committed to strengthening grassroots sports, expanding opportunities for young athletes, and consolidating Rangers International FC as a beacon of pride for both the state and the nation.

The meeting, described as “fruitful” by both sides, is expected to mark the beginning of a long-term project that could shape the future of football development in Enugu and the South East, while opening doors for the next generation of Nigerian stars.
