Super Eagles’ captain, William Troost-Ekong has declared that the entire Nigerian squad and all the players as a whole have enough ‘adrenalin’ surging through their veins, spurring them to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Sports247 gathered that, while many observers and fans keep fingering Galatasaray of Turkey striker, Victor Osimhen as the Nigerian team’s lynchpin, Ekong insists everyone in the squad has the same zeal to reach next year’s Mundial.

He enthused that the collective spirit rolling through the veins of every player in the Eagles will help them overcome the obstacle posed by Democratic Republic of Congo in Sunday’s play-off final.
The Al-Kholood of Saudi Arabia central defender pointed out, “We have a large group of players here, 24 of them, out of which only four of us have been to the World Cup.
“There is that adrenalin flowing in their system to go to the World Cup and I see it as a big motivation for us to conquer on Sunday.”
While admitting that The Leopards too are eager to reach the first World Cup to be co-hosted by three countries, Ekong stressed that an urge to make use of this second chance and the passion to excel will make a lot of difference for the Eagles during Sunday’s decisive clash.
“We would have preferred to have taken the automatic ticket, but it didn’t work out. Now, we are here. We have a second chance and we do not intend to bungle it,” Ekong affirmed.
