Super Eagles Goalkeeper Kayode Bankole Seals Two-Year Deal with South Africa’s TS Galaxy

Super Eagles’ and former Remo Stars goalkeeper, Kayode Bankole, has completed a major move to one of Africa’s most followed leagues, the Betway Premiership, after signing a two-year contract with South African side TS Galaxy FC.

Bankole, who has been one of the standout performers in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), leaves Remo Stars with an impressive record of 46 clean sheets in 93 matches, alongside two Goalkeeper of the Season awards that underline his consistency and dominance between the sticks.

The 22-year-old’s switch represents a significant step in his career, offering him the chance to test his abilities in a more competitive environment while gaining exposure on a bigger African stage. For TS Galaxy, the signing is a major boost, as they secure a dependable and ambitious young goalkeeper who has already shown leadership and composure in high-pressure games.

Bankole’s arrival is also symbolic for Nigerian football, as it highlights the increasing attention NPFL talents are attracting from abroad. His departure once again raises questions about how local clubs can retain their best players and maintain the league’s overall quality.

Looking ahead, Bankole will face the challenge of adapting to a new league, culture, and style of play in South Africa. However, his discipline, sharp reflexes, and proven record suggest he is well equipped for the transition. Meanwhile, Remo Stars will now have to fill the void left by their reliable number one, whose presence in goal has been a cornerstone of their success in recent seasons.
