Nigeria wasted no time asserting dominance, taking the lead as early as the 6th minute through Moses Simon. The winger produced a moment of brilliance, picking up the ball on the break, gliding past his marker, and finishing clinically into the bottom-left corner.

The Super Eagles maintained pressure for much of the first half, creating a series of chances and controlling the tempo. Their early breakthrough ultimately separated both sides heading into the interval.

Nigeria doubled their advantage shortly after the restart, with Akor Adams finishing off a well-worked move in the 51st minute.

The striker showed composure in front of goal after being set up by Ademola Lookman, whose creativity proved influential throughout the encounter.

The match also provided opportunities for new faces, as Chibuike Nwaiwu and Emmanuel Fernandez made their Super Eagles debuts following second-half substitutions.

Iran responded in the 69th minute, pulling one goal back to set up a tense finish. Nigeria’s technical crew reacted with a triple substitution, introducing Paul Onuachu, Chidera Ejuke, and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru to stabilise the game.

Late in the match, Frank Onyeka was introduced to help see out the closing stages as Nigeria managed the game effectively under pressure.

Despite Iran’s late push, the Super Eagles held firm to secure the win, offering encouraging signs ahead of their next friendly fixture against Jordan.

The result highlights Nigeria’s attacking depth and the growing integration of new players into the squad as preparations continue for upcoming competitive engagements.
