Super Eagles’ Captain William Troost-Ekong Opens Up: It’s Time For Us To Talk On The Pitch

Super Eagles’ captain, William Troost-Ekong has opened up with a declaration that all players in the Nigerian national team are determined to defeat Rwanda on Saturday, but added that they will do the talking on the pitch.

Sports247 reports that, rather than boast with sweet words about their ability to get victory at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, the Al-Kholood of Saudi Arabia defender said the players will simply play their hearts out according to the instructions of their coach, Eric Chelle.

The vastly improved centre back, who has previously played for Haugesund of Norway, AA Gent of Belgium, Watford of England, PAOK Saloniki of Greece and Udinese of Italy among many other clubs across Europe, further disclosed that the players have put their heads together in order to forge a common focus for victory on Saturday.

“We had meetings among ourselves, and we’ve had meetings with the coaching staff. There’s been a lot of talk about the importance and urgency of this game,” Ekong pointed out.

He concluded by revealing that all the players put in extra effort during their training sessions heading into the game on Saturday; and expressed strong optimism that their commitment will be rewarded with victory in The Nest Of Champions.

“The only thing I can add is that we are fully focused, and we know what to do. We have worked hard, prepared well, and we have been able to get more confidence from our good preparation. It’s now left for us to talk on the pitch,” Ekong affirmed.
