Players and officials of the Super Eagles started arriving late Sunday at the four-star Rive Hotel in Rabat, Morocco, where they will be camped for a week during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification play-offs.
Sports247 gathered that the earliest arrivals at the Eagles’ camp were mostly England-based players – Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, Samuel Chukwueze and Tolu Arokodare – as well as Besiktas of Turkey midfielder, Wilfred Onyinye Ndidi.

Also among the early birds were Russia-based Olusegun Olakunle, FC Paris of France winger, Moses Simon and skipper of the team, William Troost-Ekong from Al-Kholood of Saudi Arabia.
Sports247 checks revealed that the players might just have to ‘manage’ the hotel where they are lodged, as it is located in a busy part of Rabat, with a tendency for the squad to face distractions, as there are balconies in each of its rooms.
Furthermore, unlike most base camps for national teams during major competitions, Rive Hotel does not boast of a gym for indoor fitness drills of the players nor an expansive lawn they could use for light work out after returning from the stadium or for early morning warm up.
Meanwhile, a summarised promotional script about the Eagles’ hotel camp stated in part: “The Rive Hotel in Rabat, Morocco is a 4-star abode located at 1 Rue Tindouf in the Hassan district. It is situated in the city center, near historical sites like Le Chellah, the Oudayas, and Hassan Tower.
“The hotel offers modern amenities such as air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, private balconies, and on-site restaurants, with some reviews noting its convenient location for sightseeing.
“Located within a 5-minute walk of the Rabat Train Station in the heart of Quartier Hassan, Rive Hôtel offers a tranquil retreat. The enchanting Rive Hotel Rabat is a 4-star property that also offers a perfect blend of modern amenities, stunning views, two restaurants, a café and a bar.”
