Sports247 gathered that, while the Eagles’ camp will officially open on Tuesday, ahead of Friday’s international friendly against Iran and against Jordan next week Tuesday, the backroom staff will get there on Monday night.
The advance delegation is charged with ensuring that all camp needs are available before the arrival of the players, as well as arranging the rooms, checking welfare facilities, coordinating logistics and receiving players at the airport.
The backroom staff, which will include the indigenous assistant coaches, Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu, medical crew and kit manager, will lay proper ground for the players, ahead of their clash with Iran on Friday.
The team will then face Jordan on Tuesday, March 31, with both fixtures taking place in Antalya, Turkey due to ongoing security concerns and military tensions in parts of the Middle East that forced a change in the original venue in Amman.
Eagles’ coach, Eric Sekou Chelle named a squad of 23 players on Wednesday for the upcoming games, but three notable absentees are striker Victor Osimhen, right-back Ola Aina and first choice goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali.
