Sunshine Stars, Kwara Utd lock horns in semis

Defending champions, Sunshine Stars will tackle Kwara United in one of the semi-finals of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney on Thursday September 5, at the Kwara State Stadium Complex, Ilorin.

Sunshine Stars who on Monday beat Remo Stars 1-0 in battle of Stars, secured the top spot in Group B on head-to-head despite been levelled with the Sky Blue Stars on 7points.

Kwara United will hope to take their pound of flesh from the Owena Whales whom they lost the 2018 edition final to by a lone goal at the Akure Stadium.

The second semi-final will see tourney favourites, Niger Tornadoes slugging it out with Remo Stars.

Recall Tornadoes went top of Group A with 7points after they pummeled MFM FC of Lagos 4-0 in their last fixture.

Anxious Ilorin fans will see night games in history of pre-season tournament in Nigeria as both matches is expected to be played under floodlights.

Gate fees for both ties is pegged at a flat rate of One Hundred Naira (#100).
