The second half witnessed Sunshine Queens intensifying their efforts to draw level, but Edo Queens’ solid defensive line thwarted their attempts.

Despite the home side’s determination, they were unable to secure a share of the points, and the match concluded with a victory for the visitors.

Speaking to the media after the match, Sunshine Queens’ head coach, Oladimeji Abimbola, expressed his disappointment with the team’s loss, particularly attributing it to conceding a “cheap goal” in the first half.

He acknowledged the youthfulness of his squad and emphasized the team’s commitment to improvement with each match.

Coach Abimbola remarked, “We didn’t play badly; we were just unlucky not to have scored in today’s game.

We created lots of goal-scoring chances that were not converted. Nevertheless, we will go back to the drawing board and make amendments where it’s needed.”

Despite the setback, Coach Abimbola maintained confidence in his players and expressed belief in their ability to recover lost points in future matches, both at home and away.
