Sunday Dare Calls Out Nigeria Volleyball Federation…Demands Game Structural Development For Grassroots Sustainability

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has tasked the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) to put up structures that will enable grassroots development of the game in order to ensure it’s growth and upward trajectory.

The Federation International for Volleyball (FIVB) and Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB), president of Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), engineer Habu Gumel who is a member of the committee were all led by the President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Mr. Musa Nimrod at Abuja when this charge was made by the minister.

Volleyball is one of the games that have grown exponentially since his appointment to office as minister, and as such would need all the resources to ensure the maintenance of the present level.

Sunday Dare further beseeched the Federation to commit to developing more interest in the game in schools and colleges to ensure Nigeria is shot to the apex of glory in the sport.

“We have to be committed to buildimg the sport from grassroots and this involves schools, colleges, nurturing talents that will be in the volleyball team and can heathily compete with other great counties,” the minister stated.

Nigeria is one of the counties that passionately loves sports and as such, the government is ready to support all games to thrive for the harvest of talents and socio-economic development.

Mr Musa Nimrod, president of the Volleyball Federation applauded the ministry for their immense contribution towards the development of sports in the country while also promising that volleyball will take it’s rightful place and reach new heights in Nigeria.
