Success Umukoro secured a silver medal in the women’s 60m final at the Big 12 Indoor Championships in Texas, clocking an impressive 7.21 seconds to finish second in a closely contested race.

The Nigerian sprinter was narrowly edged out by Indya Mayberry, who took gold with a winning time of 7.19s. Umukoro’s explosive start and strong drive phase kept her in the hunt until the line, underlining her status as one of the top performers at the championships.
Her Texas Tech teammate, Olayinka Olajide, also featured in the final and finished fourth with a time of 7.33 seconds, rounding off a strong showing for the duo on the big stage.
The result marks another podium finish for Umukoro this indoor season and highlights the growing influence of Nigerian sprinters in the U.S. collegiate circuit.
