Star Bombers Boss Wants Tough Friendly Matches From NLO, NNL Teams

After destroying Samba Boys 4-1 in a recent friendly match played at the Opebi Primary School, Ikeja, Lagos, the president of Star Bombers, Chijioke Damn has boasted that his team is ready to face any team from nationwide league one, NLO, and Nigeria National League NNL clubs in the state.

Dann gave this warning while chatting with Sports247 in Lagos that Star Bombers are not well known in Lagos but they are ready to give any NLO and NNL teams a run for their money.

He explained further that his colleagues are not professional players but noted that most of them understand the round leather game more than so-called professional club players in the state.

“Our victory against Samba Boys was the beginning of good things to come. We still need tough friendly matches and if we can see any NLO or NNL team, honestly we are ready to play them,” he said.

The dark-skinned President said their victory over Samba Boys was well deserved and congratulated his boys for the job well done.

But Samba Boys Coach, Edefeuna Mike said it was not a good result for his team but cited the absence of key players in the team which affected their performance.

“It was a good match but I am not comfortable with the outcome of the result. Our defeat was a result of some of our regular players who were absent from the team. We accept results in good faith and we would go back to the drawing board to correct our mistakes. I congratulate our opponents for the hard-fought victory recorded against us but I may call for a rematch if we are fully ready,” he said.

In the encounter watched by hundreds of fans, Ndubisi Kelechi opened the goal account for Star Bombers in the 5th minute before Obioha Ikechukwu scored the second goal to end the first half 2-0 in favor of Star Bombers.

The second half was an impressive one as both teams raised the bar. Umearokwu Henry was a delight to watch as he scored a brace to condemn their opponents to total defeat.

A consolatory goal from Okwy Ibe came in the 92nd minute as the pulsating tie ended in 4-1 in favor of the away team.
