“Stand Firm, Proudly Celebrate, and Back Our Heroes” — Majekodunmi Urges Football Lovers As Nigeria Marks 65 Years

As Nigeria celebrates 65 years of independence today, October 1, Executive Board Member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, has issued a stirring message to the nation’s football community.

Majekodunmi called on Nigerians to remain patient and united in support of all national football teams, urging fans to celebrate both the male and female squads as well as honour past and present sporting heroes.

He stressed that better days are ahead for Nigerian football and appealed for trust in the leadership of the NFF, coaches, and technical staff driving the game forward.

“Now is the time for us to celebrate our boys and our girls, to honour our heroes, and to salute the leadership of the NFF and Nigeria,” Majekodunmi declared.

The Ogun FA Chairman added that football remains a unifying force in the country and called on all Nigerians to use the 65th anniversary as a moment of renewed pride, resilience, and optimism.
