SSI Premiership: Its A Peaceful Easter Celebration Spiced With Football Artistry In Jos As Ajester, Jazzy Stars Remain Unscathed

Men, women, and children that decided to celebrate their Easter Sunday watching football, were not disappointed as they were given more than enough with some out-of-this-world football artistry displayed by teams in the ongoing SSI Premiership matchday 2 encounters!

In the first match played at the Jos New Stadium yesterday, Ajester FA maintains their leadership on the log after matchday 2, as they thrashed Clapai FA 4-1.

Sagiru Ibrahim netted a brace again in the 5th and 57th minute to lead the goals scorers chart with 4 goals from 2 matches played in the league thus far.

Hamza Zakariya and Adeola Abiola completed the rout for Ajester, while Dimas Jerry got the consolation for Clapai FA in the 20th minute of an encounter that saw Clapai FA putting up some entertaining moves but unable to convert chances that came their way against an Ajester FA side that are ruthless in front of goal.

In the second match of the day, Elspuron FA bounced back from defeat in week one as they beat a hard-fighting Red Arrows team 3-2.

Mesmerizing winger, Shamsudeen Usman, put El-Spuron FA in front in the 22nd minute, before Abdul Idris equalized for Red Arrows FA almost immediately in the 27th minute.

Yero Job put El-Spuron ahead via a penalty in the 31st minute, but the Red Arrows boys kept fighting, got an equalizer in the 34th minute, before skillful attacker, Emmanuel Sunday, wrapped up the game for Elspuron FA, getting the winning goal in the 45th minute.

A 72nd-minute equalizer by Aliyu Salisu, denied Nestrac FA their second win in as many games, as a Super Stars FA team, also yet to taste defeat thus far, played out a 2-2 draw.

Jideofor Emmanuel got the first goal for Nestrac FA in the 12th minute, Adamu Umar equalized for Super Stars FA in the 28th minute after Ibrahim Abdullahi missed a penalty for the boys from Gangare in the 20th minute.
A 57th-minute goal by Dolapo Boboye looked done and dusted for Nestrac FA, but Aliyu Salisu put a stop to their celebration in the 72nd minute to end the encounter 2-2.

The 4th match of the day between Derby FA and Jazzy Stars FA, picked as the star match of the week, lived up to its billing in terms of action and some football extravaganza, but a last-minute goal by Daniel Johnson in the 88th minute, via an assist from long throw specialist, Babatunde Komolafe, ended the encounter, Derby FA 0 Jazzy Stars FA 1.

The last match of the day between Highland Stars FA and Cadets FA, the two youngest sides of the league, made up of at least 85% of under-16 players, put up some scintillating soccer showpiece that refreshed football fans who had been at the stadium since the first game started early in the morning.

The entertaining match, saw Highland Stars emerging winner, beating Cadets FA 2-1.

James Yachim opening the scoring for the team from Dadin Kowa in the 5th minute, Dafom Ritong equalized for Cadets in the 47th minute via a penalty after dashing left-footed winger, Victor Yunana, was hacked in the 18yard box.

Emmanuel Dung gave Highland Stars FA the day in the 52nd minute to end the entertaining encounter, 2-1.
