Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has expressed satisfaction with the facilities put in place at Alade sports stadium, Ipaja Command, Alimosho, Lagos in preparation for Under 13 and 15 Sunday Dare Athletics Championship Tourney in Lagos.
Honourable sports minister who was ably represented by the secretary-general of Southwest Athletics Association, Dr Isaac Friday Ogada commended Alade Grassroots Sports Academy for the initiative which would help school sport development in Southwest.
Ogada while addressing the Organizers of the tournament said the facilities and lurch green grass of Alade stadium are in good shape and ready to host the tournament of this magnitude in the name of Honorable sports minister.
“Based on my fact-finding of the venue of Sunday Dare national athletics, I must confess that the organizers have done well in their preparation. The lurch green grass of the stadium is superb and the other facilities put in place are in good shape for the competition. I congratulate the organizers for their unrelenting efforts and doggedness in ensuring that Sunday Dare athletic tourney live up to standard.”
“Let me say my coming here is known by four organs to assess the organizers, venue and facilities for the competition. I am here to represent honourable sports minister, I also represented Southwest Athletics Association, Athletics Federation of Nigeria and Oyo state athletic association. I need to submit my reports to these organs for approval and give all their support to ensure that the tourney is standardized,” he said.
Ogada urged the Organizers to continue in their preparation and assured support from both federal and South-west region.
In his own remark, project director, Otunba Samuel Adeleye thanked Ogada for his visit and assured him that the Organisers would continue to work hard to make the forthcoming Sunday Dare athletics tourney a memorable one.
The president of Alade Grassroots Sports Academy, Prince Tunde Alade expressed delight that Under 13 and 15 Sunday Dare athletics tourney has received the attention of Honorable sports minister and promised that the organizers would give their best to host a successful tournament.
