Director General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, has applauded athletes who represented the the state at the 8th National Youth Games in Asaba for performing exceptionally as he affirms the State Government commitment to develop sports through education as an intersection which assist human capacity development.

Speaking at the award ceremony for the four athletes, Akanbi Demilade (Swimming), Akinwuwo Oladeji (Deaf Athletics), Kanu Chioma (Swimming) and Emmanuel Bright (Tennis), were rewarded with one million each by Parallex Bank at their Headquarters in Victoria Island, Fatodu states that Lagos will continue to recognize and support sporting talents to attain global success.
“We don’t want these young athletes to go without having broader view of the world they are living in, the only way we can elevate this is to provide better platform for them not just nationally but globally to have a private sector whose vision clearly align with what we want to do.
‘To identify talent and structural development program is actually central to Lagos state sport commission. We are very grateful for the opportunities by the sponsorship of today. Parallex Bank is not just helping to increase the space of these young athletes but to inspire other”’, he noted.
Fatodu restated that Parallex Bank is actually contributing to balancing education with sports, which can help to open more doors for these athletes.
“We want to be seen as people who are committed to the vision of Sports Development and Talent Identification. Once these young people can be captured positively. We have answered some of the possibility of prospect of the direction of criminality and wrongdoing within the society and also created a generation of champion who inspire a lot of people”, he said.
Speaking further, the DG explains that “generation of champion who will inspire a lot of people, four of them have been supported and sponsored today contributed to our unprecedented gold medals procument at the last Youth Games and they actually fit into the success story the State like to share”.
