Top marks are still rolling out in favour of Spice Arena, in the Iyana-Odo/Arida axis of Alimosho local government area, Lagos, following its successful hosting of several students during the week.
Sports247 was there live, as students of Universal Comprehensive College, off Governor Road, Ikotun gathered in large numbers for the school’s long awaited and much talked about Mini-Olympics.
It turned into a carnival like atmosphere, as several students gathered from the premises of their school at Olabode Street and made the best of their leisure day with various activities at the arena.
Aside from so much fun that the students had in both male and female football matches, as well as running and a novelty game against their teachers, a major talking point was the beauty of Spice Arena.
“I never knew that a place as sophisticated as this can be found within this our area,” one of the teachers stated in a chat with Sports247.
“I’m impressed with the neat environment, the smooth surface of their astro-turf and a conducive sitting gallery. The only missing thing is that they don’t have enough space.
“I think they constructed this place on half a plot. Apart from that, which made the pitch narrow and long, I should say this place can even host recreational games for adults.”
