South Africa’s Three Points Deduction Is Very Important To Us, But We’re Not Relying On It – Mohammed Sanusi

As tension rises ahead of the September 9th FIFA World Cup qualifier between the Super Eagles and Bafana Bafana, the secretary-general of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Muhammed Sanusi has admitted it is very important to see South Africa deducted three points for using an inelligible player against Lesotho, but stressed that no one is relying solely on that for the qualification ticket.

Sports247 reports that, rather than rest back and fold their arms on the premise that South Africa’s six points advantage over Nigeria will soon be cut to three by FIFA’s sanctions, everyone at Sunday Dankaro Football House is already plotting how to win all four remaining games in the qualifiers.

“We can’t rely on the deduction book, because that alone can not give us victory. What we know is that we must win our remaining.

“So, we must work towards winning all our matches, and that will, of course, ensure we qualify with our own efforts,” Sanusi affirmed.

He concluded by urging Nigerians to pray for the Eagles to get victory away to South Africa as well as at home versus Rwanda next Saturday, away to Lesotho and finally welcome Benin Republic in the last game of the qualifiers.

“If we rely on FIFA to deduct South Africa’s points and we don’t win our matches, what can three points do for us?

“So, we just can’t rely only on the deduction of their three points, but we also know that they are very important to us,” the erudite football scribe concluded.
